Kierdorfwein: German and Piedmont Cellar Selection

NZ$85.00

It is with great pleasure that we can announce our next collaboration series of masterclasses with a fantastic selection of wines. Many of you will be familiar with student of wine and filmmaker Manuel Hornemann who has been a stalwart member of our wine community and classes here at Wine Sentience. Manuel has recently joined the team at Kierdorfwein, who are one of Germany’s premier family-owned specialists in fine wine including a fantastic selection of Burgundies, Rhônes, Italian wines and of course top German estates. Although we are sorry to hear that Manuel will be leaving us, he has organised an amazing set of wines from Kierdorfwein’s cellars specially brought in as a teaser and taster of their vast collection.

With their support and generosity, we are able to offer a series of three classes to taste these wines at a heavily discounted price, especially considering the rarity and esteem of most of these bottles. Across three Mondays, we will cover four of the areas which they specialise in; combining Germany with Piedmont; Burgundy plus a Champagne; and finally the Rhône with one bottle of Banyuls and Rioja for variety! These are large tastings with 15 to 16 wines each, so we will be going through them faster than we normally would, but given the rare opportunity to present and talk about these wines, we jumped at the chance!

Please be aware that he has only imported two bottles of each wine. To account for the possibility of cork taint, we are restricting numbers to a single bottle tasting.

The German and Piedmont tasting is an absolutely mind-blowing selection of 16 top of the line wines including the following highlights;

Egon Müller Scharzhofberger Kabinett 2020 and Wiltinger Braune Kupp Kabinett 2020
J.J. Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese goldkapsel 2006 and Graacher Himmelreich Auslese 2012
Ökonomierat Rebholz Kastanienbusch Riesling Grosses Gewächs 2018 and Im Sonnenschein Riesling Grosses Gewächs 2018
Phillipp Kuhn Laumersheimer Kirschgarten Pinot Noir Grosses Gewächs 2019
Bernhard Huber Malterdinger Weisser Burgunder & Chardonnay 2018
Künstler Hochheimher Domdechaney Erste Lage Riesling 2019 and Kirchenstück Riesling Kabinett trocken 2017
Giacomo Conterno Barolo Francia 2018
Nervi Gattinara 2015, Vigna Molsino 2014 and Vigna Valferana 2018

This booking is for the German and Piedmont session. Please book the other sessions separately

For trade customers, Manuel has also offered 18 bottles selected across the 46 wines which he has brought in, if you wanted to taste a smaller selection of them. Do let us know if this is you and we’ll pass your details on to him for consideration to attend the trade class, which is running on the afternoon of Tuesday 28th November.
