Classic v disrupter

  • Wine Sentience Hub Lvl 1, 104 Vivian Street, Te Aro Wellington New Zealand (map)

Each region of the winemaking world boasts a colourful cast of personalities. Each one of those figures has had to find their own way to best represent themselves, their land and their traditions. Some let tradition lead the way- bridging the past to the present and preserving the outward facing image of the region. Others take a more iconoclastic approach- an inquisitive challenge to accepted fixtures.

Our weekly tastings will delve into a single region or varietal by tasting two classic examples alongside two examples that disrupt preconceived norms.  The goal is to highlight regions by exploring past, present and future by way of the quirks and idiosyncrasies of the people who make the wines.

Four wines tasted. $20. No need to pre-book.
