Weird & Wonderful

  • Wine Sentience Hub 104 Vivian Street Wellington, Wellington, 6011 New Zealand (map)

Navigating the world of natural wine can feel perilous at times. The fractures in varying definitions can offer a confusing picture: Are these wines truly the purest expression of terroir or are they merely jovial thirst quenchers? Or can they be both?

Though natural wine is already a subcategory, contained within are a multitude of countries, personalities, attitudes and traditions. To offer the most complete snapshot, we have put together a selection of wines highlighting styles born from tradition alongside those stepping away from preconceived edicts. This is a tasting intended to drive discussion about the past, present and future of natural wines - from the weird to the wonderful.

Join presenter Caitlin Perlman in discussion designed to celebrate natural wine by tasting through a selection of weird and wonderful global wines- both traditional and new school. This is intended to be casual and to create dialog about the wines, preconceived notions and challenges still ahead.
